Abstract
Epoxy membranes with different crosslinking degrees were prepared and characterized to investigate the effect of curing degree on membrane performance. The pure water flux (PWF) test determined that higher curing degrees measured with differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), led to a higher permeation pressure (PP) while maintaining the same PWF. Field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) images showed a sponge-like morphology where increasing the crosslinking degree led to higher mean pore size in membrane cross-section. The swelling test indicated that increasing the crosslinking degree led to lower stability towards organic solvents.
