Abstract

This paper presents an examination of repair alert models for analyzing discrete lifetimes coming from maintenance programs. The study considers the negative binomial distribution for component lifetimes. Furthermore, we address the challenges associated with parameter estimation for the negative binomial distribution and compute some approximate confidence intervals for the selected distribution based on the Akaike Information Criterion. Findings are illustrated by analyzing a real dataset.
