Abstract
This study investigates the effects of zinc oxide (ZnO) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles, along with neroli essential oil, on polylactic acid (PLA) films to develop enhanced active packaging materials. Mechanical properties and light absorption characteristics were evaluated. The PROMETHEE method, a multi-criteria decision-making approach, was used to identify the optimal film based on various performance metrics. Considering thickness, opacity, UV absorption, and elongation at break as criteria, the best film selected was the control film. This indicates that the addition of nanoparticles and neroli essential oil does not necessarily improve the films but can introduce antimicrobial properties.
