Title : ( Leveraging Artificial Intelligence in Translating Interactive Bilingual Books of Children: Challenges and Opportunities )
Authors: Safa Emami Ale-Agha ,
Abstract
Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) is gradually transforming language education, offering new potential in translating bilingual children’s literature. Tools like Google Translate, DeepL, and ChatGPT provide rapid, scalable solutions. However, preserving literary qualities—such as rhythm, emotional resonance, and metaphorical depth—remains a challenge. This study evaluates these tools by translating two distinct texts: the chorus-like Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and the metaphorically rich Persian classic The Little Black Fish. While AI handles basic repetition and structure reasonably, it falters in capturing nuanced literary elements. Our findings argue for a collaborative human–AI model in educational publishing to maintain literary integrity.
