Background: Uterine rupture is an uncommon but potentially life-threatening condition that can occur in adult, intact female dogs and can cause peritonitis due to presence of discharges or the fetus. if left untreated this problem can lead to more complicated situations like septicemia or death. Methodes (Case presentation): A 4-year-old, 13-kg female Siberian Husky was presented with fever, weakness, anorexia, and vaginal discharge to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in mehr 1404. Hematological analysis revealed leukocytosis (WBC = 24,000/µL), anemia, and the presence of toxic changes in neutrophils, suggesting the possibility of pyometra. Considering owner’s request, diagnostic ultrasonography was not performed, and she was referred to the surgery department for an emergency ovariohysterectomy. During operation, rupture in right uterine horn and body was observed, and pregnancy was confirmed. following the enbloc, the abdomen was thoroughly flushed. Post-operation antibiotic therapy included IV Cefazolin and oral Co-Trimoxazole. The dog was in full health within two weeks. Conclusion: Uterine rupture is one of the most important causes of peritonitis in bitches and should be considered as one of differential diagnoses for uterine discharges. Surgical management of uterine rupture is necessary for survival of the patient.
