Abstract

We appreciate the interest shown by Bhat (2025) in our article published in Gondwana Research (“Retrieving petrogenetic source, compositional diversity and tectono-magmatic scenario of Tethyan sediment-derived magmatic flare-up: A tale from petrochemical and multi-isotopic systematics,” GR 141, 164–179). The author raises concerns regarding our isotopic interpretations, tectonic context, and data presentation. A careful reading of our paper, together with modern understanding of the tectonomagmatic evolution of sediment-derived granites, indicates that these concerns arise from clear misunderstandings of both our dataset and current geodynamic frameworks. Moreover, we advise the author to reread our paper carefully, as well as the contemporary fundamentals of sediment-derived granite petrogenesis, before raising such claims; the issues presented are refutable, illogical, and scientifically unsupported.
