Abstract
Abstract This paper explores the concept of temporality in Driving Miss Daisy, examining how narrativetime portrays the relationship between Daisy Werthan and Hoke Colburn across the play and its film adaptation. Drawing on narrative theory. it explores the temporal strategies employed in each medium to depict the socio-cultural and generational shifts occurring during the span of twenty-five years. By exploring the play and the cinematic adaplation, this study examines how each approach can use different techniques to represent temporality that influence the storytelling andaudience interpretation. In this comparative study, the paper focuses on using cinematie techniquessuch as pacing, editing, and camera movements and how they help shape the narrative. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the relationship between narrative structure in modern drama and cinema, specifically temporality which is a crucial device in this work that not only defines the characters development but also connects the cultural and generational gaps central to the storyline.
