Abstract
Heterocyclic compounds (5-9) were synthesized and reacted with 4,5-bis (bromomethyl) benzo-15-crown-5 to afford the fused benzocrown-heterocycle ligands (10-14). The complexing ability of these macrocyclic ligands toward Li + , Na + , K + , Mg 2+ , Ca 2+ , Li + /Mg 2+ and Li + K + was measured by the solvent extraction method. The data show that extractability of the double cations enhances remarkably when compared with the extraction ability of the single cation.
