Abstract
Simulations of a vehicle vibration require road surface input profiles, which may come directly from measurements of the surface roughness. However, when such measurements are not available, pseudo-random profiles can be generated to have the desired spectral densities. On the other hand, obtaining a reliable cross-spectral data for the road profile pairs is difficult, either from literature or by measurement. In this study, artificial generation of a typical road surface topography has been performed according to the International Standard Organization (ISO) road roughness classification. Perfectly correlated and completely uncorrelated parallel tracks are also presented.
