The modal analysis of a vehicle wheel is studied in this work. The modal parameters are measured experimentally. The measured quantities include the natural frequencies of the system and mode shapes. Modal analysis is also carried out using the ANSYS finite element package. Subspace iteration method is used for calculating the frequencies. The experimental results are used to verify the numerical results obtained in the fnite element analysis. There is a good correspondence between the measured and calculated natural frequencies and the mode shapes, even though the most measured frequencies are lower than the calculated values.
