Title : Personality Types and Literary Intelligence and Literary Translation
The present study is conducted on three English groups of translation, literature and teaching students. The purpose of the research is first to find the probable relationship of personality types (PTs) on literary translation (LT) among translation M.A students. Second it examines if there is any relationship between literary intelligence (LI) and literary translation among non-translation students. Finally, it compares the literary translation quality of literature and translation students. More than 270 university students were given personality and literary intelligence questionnaires and literary texts to translate. One-way ANOVA, Pearson Correlation and T-tests were performed on the data. 54 subjects out of about 120 were finally analyzed for the first research question (RQ1) and it indicated there is no significant relationship between personality types and literary translation. The next RQ resulted in the lack of relationship between literary intelligence and literary translation of non-translation students among 44 subjects. For the comparison of literature and translation students in the case of literary translation, there is not any significant relationship among 50 students. The research provides some explanations and suggestions at the end for further studies in the realm.
