As the particle size decreases into the nanometer range, the materials exhibit peculiar and increasing mechanical and physical properties, e.g. increased mechanical strength, different melting point, enhanced diffusivity, higher specific heat and electrical resistivity compared to conventional coarse grained counterparts.
