The role of riboflavin as an elictor of systemic resistance and a plant defence activator in rice was demonstrated in the present study. Following treatment with riboflavin, rice plants developed systemic resistance to Rhizoctonia solani and R. oryzae-sativae, causal agents of sheath blight and aggregate sheath spot of rice, respectively.
