Selective removal of Pb2+ for environmental remediated and in the treatment of acute and chromic lead poisoning remains an important objective. Attempts to remove toxic heavy metal ions such as Cd2+, Hg2+ and Pb2+ cations from the environment and from biological systems have utilized a varity of separation methods such as adsorption, precipitation, solvent extraction and liquid membrane transport.
