Jet impingement cooling or heating has been widely applied to provide high heat transfer rates in many industrial processes, including hardening and quenching of metals, cooling of electronic components and drying of textiles, papers and films. In this paper, a laminar mist/air confined slot jet impingement is studied. The target surface is assumed to be isothermal and the flow to be two dimensional and steady. The governing equations are solved numerically using finite volume method in order to acquire the distributions of the local friction factor and heat transfer coefficient on the isothermal flat surface. The heat transfer coefficient and skin friction factor are compared with the slot air jet impingement ones. Finally it has been shown that the rate of heat transfer in mist/air impingement jet increases drastically, whereas, the skin friction increases insignificantly.
