Abstract

The aim of this study is the mathematical modeling and simulation of dehydration plant of a commercial gas refinery by the sequential modular approach. For steady state flowsheeting of the plant, mathematical model of absorption and desorption columns are needed. Previously we have developed the necessary models for this flowsheeting procedure. Flowsheeting model is based on mass and energy balances in each equipment and utilizing some auxiliary equations such as thermodynamics model for activity coefficients. By steady state flowsheeting of the dehydration loop TEG reflux stream is selected as the tear stream and iterations will give the final results about flowrate and compositions of all streams. The results predicted by the model are in good agreement with the commercial plant data.
