Pepino (Solanum muricatum) is an exotic fruit which grows approximately to three feet in height. In order to investigate the effect of mulch, pruning and plant density on vegetative characteristics of pepino, an experiment was conducted as factoriel based on randomized completely design with five replications at the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran greenhouse during 2009. The experimental comprised all combina tions of three kinds of mulch (rice straw mulch, woody chips and control), three levels of pruning (two peduncular and three peduncular and control) and two plant density (0.3 and 0.4 plant per m-2). The results indicated that mulching had significant effect (p≤0.01) on the height, length of internode, stem diameter and leaf area of pepino. The simple effects of pruning and interaction effects between mulching and pruning were significant on length of internode and leaf area of pepino. Also, the significant interaction effects between mulching and density were significant on length of in-ternode of pepino. The highest and the lowest height of pepino were observed in woody chips (91cm) and control (52cm), respectively. The maximum and minimum amounts of leaf area were obtained in two peduncular and control, respectively.
