Abstract
In this study, 100 patients with type 2 diabetes and 50 controls were screened by RFLP-PCR. For the detected polymorphisms, genomic DNA was extracted from control and type 2 diabetic subjects. Exon 5 of human GLP-1R gene was amplified by the PCR. The PCR products of exon 5 were digested by NLaIII restriction endonuclease and analyzed on the agarose gel. The GLP-1R By PCR-RFLP using the NLaIII fragment we were able to clearly distinguish, the Thr149Met mutation was absent in all patients and controls. There is no relation between Thr149Met polymorphism and diabetic disease manifestation in Mashhad.
