Abstract

Abstract Effect of 8 weeks wrestling and wrestling –technique based circuit exercise on plasma lipoprotein profile was examined in 20 well trained senior wrestlers. Subjects randomly were divided in two groups, First group: 6 weeks of wrestling and wrestling–technique based circuit exercise(WTBCE) and control group remained sedentary. Blood samples were taken 48 hour before and after first and last session of exercise training, respectively. cholesterol, HDL,LDL,TG, fasting blood sugar, plasma volume (PV),body weight, BMI, body fat, Maximum power, Fatigue index and Vo2max were measured. significant decrease in fasting blood sugar(FBS) and plasma volume (PV),body weight, BMI,and body fat, significant increase in Maximum power, Fatigue index and Vo2max and no significant change in cholesterol, HDL,LDL and TG, were shown in experimental group and In control group not any of mentioned variables changed significantly. It seems that this type of exercise might be considered as a stimulus for metabolic responses.
