Abstract
Abstract-Grid infrastructure is being used to run applications that require resources that are not locally available or resources that are locally available but either it is not economical to use them or it is not possible to have the task completed in a reasonable time span. There are usually vast variety of available resources on the grid1 that are qualified to be used by applications which are their geographically spread with different communication time and expenses. The quality of service needed by the application owner makes the resource selection a challenging effort. This paper focuses on the subject of resource discovery that matches with the application requirements. It uses a reservation based attempt on the resource side which is potentially suitable to be selected. The novelty of the approach is in its scheme to perform all activities for making two reservations simultaneously as opposed to one reservation at a time that has been studied by other researchers, recently. Our simulation results show the supremacy of the proposed approach because of the tremendous work involved in making a reservation.
