Abstract

In this paper, after a brief review of the variable speed wind turbines, an advanced idea for wind farms is presented and studied. The suggested system is a combination of recently developed technologies along with the innovative application of the superconductive coil. The application of the superconductive coil in the boost converter topology is suggested in this paper. Besides, the suggested system has the capability of DC power transmission to a proper connection point without using any additional equipment. This feature reduces the transmission costs, especially the cables cost.
