Abstract

Fuzzy weighted mean filters outperform non-fuzzy filters, but they require enormous amount of computation time. Parallel technology provides efficient tools to let these filters execute on a cluster or grid. In this paper, we present two parallel algorithms for applying FWM filters. Both algorithms are data parallel, and are implemented with MPI directives. Experimental results show the feasibility and effectiveness of parallel algorithms.
