Abstract

In recent years, application of allelopathy in weeds management have paid special attention by weed scientists. Therefore, to investigate the effect of different levels of shoot extracts of field bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis L.) on primary growth of garden radish (Raphanus sativus var. sativus), an experiment was designed in a complete randomized design with 3 replications during 2009 in lab of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. Treatments were 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% field bindweed water extracts. The results indicated that field bindweed water extracts influenced on germination percent, mean daily germination (MDG), dry matter percent, radical and primary root growth. There were significant difference between treatments (P<0.01). Increasing the extract levels of field bindweed caused reduction in radish germination and growth significantly.
