Abstract
This study proposes a new formulation for patch resistance load of steel plate girders using genetic algorithm (GA). The data used for the GA-based formulation is based on well established experimental results taken from literature. The results of the GA-based formulation are compared with existing models and experimental results. The results indicate that the proposed GA-based formulation performs quite well compared to existing models and experimental results.
