Abstract
A highly diastereoselective three-component anti-Mannich reaction of aromatic amines and aromatic aldehydes with cyclohexanone in the presence of Ferric hydrogensulfate supported on silica is developed. The best selectivity was obtained where there are ERGs on both aldehyde and amine. The selectivity decreases when EWGs are present on aldehyde, in these cases the selectivity are improved by ERG on amine.
