During a survey on pine Pinus mugo Turra pests in April 2010 in Mashhad, the aphid species of Cinara pini (Linnaeus, 1758) was observed in abundant populations particularly on the seedlings. The aphid belongs to the subfamily Cinarinae and family Lachnidae. The mean adult size was 2.5 to 2.9 mm. The base of final antennal segment has fewer than 4 hairs. The final rostrum segment is longer than the basal diameter of cornicles or equals to or slightly longer than the second segment of hind leg tarsus. The aphid had three nymphal instars lasting 10 days in greenhouse conditions (252 °C, 455 % r.h.). The period from adult emergence until first reproduction lasted 48 hours. The reproductive period lasted 13 days during which a mean of 36 nymphs were deposited. The total length of one generation was 25 days.
