Abstract
By measuring the volume fraction of martensite destruction of the samples or in some cases the amount of it would be considered. In this work, a 304L AISI austenitic stainless steel was rolled from 10 to 80% reduction at 0 °C, and then the volume fraction of each phase was calculated by means of X-ray diffraction analysis. Furthermore, image analysis was done. According to these analyses good compliance with quantitive XRD and image analysis was shown in the range of 20 to 50% reduction. Also eddy current investigation was carried out in 250 to 2000 Hz frequencies. Because of good martensite dispersion in the surface and depth, the results present same trends with different rang of voltage for varying frequencies. By comparing the data of these methods the relationship between them was found to be a function of exponential model, while some researchers have previously reported a linear relationship, but both have a good match.
