Abstract
Bacterial samples were isolated from the conjunctival sacs of 39 (65%) of 60 normal dogs. Organisms isolated included staphylococci 23 (36.5%), Bacillus spp 17 (26.98%), streptococci 5 (7.93%), Escherichia coli 4 (6.35%), Pseudomonas spp 3 (4.76%), Lactobacillus spp 3 (4.76%), Neisseria spp 3 (4.76%), Alcaligenes spp 2 (3.17%), Pasteurella spp 1 (1.59%), Klebsiella spp 1 (1.59%), and Francisella spp 1 (1.59%).
