Abstract

Recently, outstanding properties of carbon nanotube thin films (CNT-TFs) have brought a wide range of applications for them, including transistors, nanoporous electrodes, and optical transparent electrodes. Electrophoretic deposition (EPD) is among the most popular methods for fabrication of CNT-TFs. Water and ethanol are most prevalent solvents in EPD. Both of these solvents are amongst polar protic liquids which have hydrogen bonds in their structures. In fact, these solvents have high dielectric constants that is suitable for EPD process. In this study, a magnetic treatment machine was utilized in order to provide magnetized solvents for EPD process. As presented in Figure 1, this machine contains two powerful magnets. Water and ethanol were used as EPD mediums and effect of magnetization on EPD process and CNT-TF quality was studied.
