Abstract

Considering the importance of pyrazolopyrimidine derivatives for their biological activity[1], it is thought worthwhile to test the synthesizedpyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin -3(2H)-one(1a-c, 2a-c and3a-c)(scheme 1)for their antibacterial activitiesagainst gram-positive (S. aureus ATCC 25923, B. cereus ATCC 11778) and gram-negative (E. coli ATCC 25922, and Ps. aeruginosa ATCC 9027) as MIC [2] and MBC [3]. Chloramphenicol and streptomycin were used as antibacterial standards against all pathogens. The results of antibacterial properties of the new synthesized compounds are shown in figure 1 and 2.
