Abstract

In this paper, the effect of vortices behaviour on heat transfer in rarefied gas of thermal cavity are surveyed using direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC). We use a recently developed iterative technique to impose a desired wall heat flux boundary condition in the DSMC algorithm. Fluid mechanics and heat transfer behaviour are studied over the walls and in the domain of the thermal cavity over a wide range of Knudsen number in the slip and transition regimes. The vortices behaviour is described at different Knudsen numbers in details. So as to justify votices behavoirs, we will present relevant figures by more details which the influences of induced force of vertical walls by increasing Kn number are notabe.
