Title : ( Energy as a causality of growth in oil exporting countries? Panel cointegration and causality tests for OPEC countries )
Authors: MOJTABA SHAHRAKI MOHAMMADI , Hosein Mohammadi ,Abstract
This paper investigates the causal relationship between value of petroleum exports and GDP per capita in 13 OPEC countries over the period 2003-2011. The results of panel co-integration tests showed that value of petroleum exports and GDP per capita have a stable long-run equilibrium relationship. We find that for all members of the panel, there is homogenous causality form value of petroleum export to GDP per capita and vice versa. This bi-causality supports the feedback hypothesis.
