Abstract

In this work, KNbO_3 nanoparticles were synthesized by hydrothermal method at the temperatures in the range of 200 - 250°C. The starting materials were KOH, Nb_2 0_5 anc SDS (Sodium dodecyl sulfate) surfactant. The crystalline structure of the synthesized powders were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the crystallite size of the prepared samples were estimated and determined using Scherrer formula and also the size-strain plot (SSP) method. The morphology of the samples were studied by scanning electror microscopy (SEM) and optical properties by UV-Vis difused spectroscopy. The value oi the optical band gap of the samples were calculated using Kubelka-Mank method.
