The velocity of swimming is governed by stoke length and stroke rate. Difference between height and arm span may explain the difference in stroke length. Difference between different technique, strength and anthropometric characteristics can be explained by advantage in start owing to their great muscular power. There was significant difference between stroke rate and velocity and stroke rate and stoke length among swimmers. Stroke rate and stroke length was thus the main contributor to the higher velocity of the swimmer. Since the magnitude of stroke length is related to the propulsive forces that a swimmer exerts while stroking. Competitive sport is a multi factorial phenomenon; so, the couches are suggested to have the swimmer as a complex and consider all affective factors in their prosperity, specifically to stroke rate and stroke length as well as anthropometrical characteristics.
