Abstract
Teaching literature to students of foreign languages has always been burdensome. Learners` linguistic and cultural unfamiliarity with literature makes teachers use different strategies to help the learners cope with the probable problems. In this study, using the emotioncy theory (Pishghadam, 2015), a new model for teaching literature is proposed. Emotioncy is a six-level hierarchical model which ranges from exvolvement (null, audioty, visual, and kinesthetic) to involvement (inner and arch), claiming to enhance the level of understanding and appreciation. It is our hypothesis that, the higher the level of emotioncy, the higher the level of literacy appreciation would be. Using different cases from literature, this study intends to present the new model within the emotioncy framework. In the end, some suggestions are made how to use it in the classroom to enhance literary discussion and appreciation
