Abstract
There are situations in which some outliers exist in an experiment. Therefore, the statistical analysis about the underlying distribution or the parameters of interest may be effect from their presence. In this paper, we study the effect of the presence an outlier in a lifetime test, when the progressive Type-II censoring is used. The probability that the outlier is observed in a sample of progressively Type-II order statistics is computed. The results of the paper are applied on a proportional hazard rate model.
