Abstract
PVDF polymer blends have attracted considerable attention due to application in variety of scientific fields such as membrane preparation. Prior to further studies on each blend, compatibility of two polymers must be investigated; therefore, it is necessary to approximate the weight fraction range which the blend is totally miscible. One practical approach is to calculate the heat of mixing of the blend upon the properties of pure components. In this study compatibility of PVDF polymer with the other 8 common polymers was calculated and range of compatibility of the mentioned blends was presented via Table and curves. Experimental validation confirmed accuracy of the calculated compatibility ranges.
