Abstract
There are several well-known models for modeling and analyzing fail- ure time data, namely, the proportional hazard (PH) rate model, the pro- portional reversed hazard (PRH) rate model, the additive hazard model, the additive reversed hazard rate model, proportional mean residual life model and frailty model. In this paper, the general proportional mean past lifetime (GPMPL) frailty model is considered. Stochastic compar- isons are made through which it has been shown that some well known orderings between two frailty random variables carry over to the corre- sponding lifetime variables. Some comparisons between two frailty models are made.
