Abstract

LaNiO3 and LaNi0.5Co0.5O3 as the Ni-based perovskite-type oxides were synthesized via the co-precipitation method and the activity of the catalysts were evaluated in the methane dry reforming reaction with CO2. The structure of prepared perovskites was changed by using of magnetized water and was characterized by means of XRD, BET, SEM, TEM, TPR, and TPH techniques. The result demonstrated that the catalytic activity and the stability of LaNi0.5Co0.5O3 were less than those of LaNiO3 while the coke resistance was higher for LaNi0.5Co0.5O3 catalyst. In the other hand, it was proved that the presence of free Ni phase in the non-treated samples provided the higher initial activity in comparison to magnetized ones. The trend for the amount of the deposited carbon over the surface of the spent catalysts was as follows: LaNiO3 (none) > LaNiO3 (treat) > LaNiCoO3 (none) > LaNiCoO3 (treat).
