Abstract Afsilanefmoisture-curedfpolyolefnfelastomer/linearflow-densityfpolyethylenef(LLDPE)fblendfwasfpreparedfthroughfaftwo-stepf silane-graftingfmethodf(SioplasfProcess)finfanfindustrialfscaleftwin-screwfextruder.fThefsilane-graftedfcompoundfwasfusedftof makefwirefandfcablefcoatings.fInfthisfwork,fthefe ectfoffsomefinteractivefparametersfonfqualityfoffthefproductsfpreparedfbyf thefabovefmethodfhasfbeenfstudied,fwhilefsoffar,ftherefhavefbeenflessfexperimentalfinvestigations.fThefvolumefresistivityfoff cross-linkedfcompoundfwasfchangedffromf2.96f×f10 14 f tof 7.41f×f10 14 ΩlΩcmfwithfincreasingfLLDPEfcomponentfbyfmaximumf 10fwt%.fSurfacefmorphologyfoffthefproductfwasfcorrectedfwithfreductionfinfbenzoylfperoxidef(BPO)fconcentrationffromf 0.2fwt%ftof0.13fwt%.fBPOfatfthisflevelfactedfasfanfinitiatorfinfgraftingfreactionfoffvinylftrimethoxysilane.fThefcuringfconditionfandfspecimenfpreparationfmethodfbyfinjectionfmoldingfand/orfextrusionfwereffactorsfwhichfiniuencedfthefhot-setftestf resultsfatf200Ω°C.fThefresultsfofftensilefandfelongationfstudiesfshowedfafmaximumfvaluefoff9ΩMPafandf397%fforftheftests,f afterf6Ωhfcuring.fWithfincreasesfinfcuringftimefatfafspecifedftemperature,fthefgelfcontentfoffthefcross-linkedfcompoundfwasf increasedfandfreachedfitsfmaximumfvalue.fThefmaximumfgelfcontentfvaluesfwereffoundftofbefapproximatelyf60%,f80%,fandf 82%fatftemperaturesfoff25,f60,fandf85Ω°C,frespectively.fThefhardness,fdensity,fandftearfstrengthfoffthefsamplesfdidfnotfvaryf signifcantlyfwithfthefcuringftemperature.
