Abstract
Abstract: Z-source converters are one the most propitious devices in energy conversion applications. Former Z-network structures offer relatively low boosting factors while using a high number of passive components which yields a high converter size and weight and reduced efficiency. To address these problems, numerous converters have been proposed that exploit an active switch within the Z-network, such as the switched boost/quasi-switched boost networks (SB/qSBNs). In this paper, two active-switched-capacitor Z-networks are proposed. The active switch embedded in the proposed networks enables switched-capacitors concept to be realized in both, which leads to higher voltage gains. The proposed networks also feature a continuous input current. In addition, both benefit the advantage of low ratings of semiconductor devices. The Operating principles and mathematical derivations are carried out. Simulation results corroborate the theoretical assumptions
