Abstract

Objectives: Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha (PGC-1a) and Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) are significant indicators playing a part in obesity and other metabolic disorders. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of eight weeks aerobic training with different intensities on levels of PGC-1a and SIRT1 in obese male rats. Methods: 24 obese male rats were randomly put into three groups including control group, medium-intensity training group (28 m per minute) and high-intensity training group (34 m per minute) after obesity induction through maintaining a high-fat diet.
