Abstract
Nowadays, environmental pollution is a serious threat to living organisms and ecosystems. Industrial effluents, especially textile industry effluents, are one of the most important pollutants in this field which enters large amounts of dyes, especially azo dyes, into the effluents. Several methods are used for wastewater treatment while each of them has some problems and limitations. Among these methods, the adsorption method has attracted a lot of attention due to its high efficiency, cost-effectiveness and no damage to the environment. In this study, the efficiency of adsorption process by adsorbent of copper oxide nanoparticles to remove azo RR24 dye was investigated and the effect of various factors such as pH and adsorbent dose were also investigated. Primary results showed that the highest amount of adsorption occurs at acidic pH and decreases with increasing pH of adsorption. Also, with increasing the absorbent dose, the amount of dye removal increases. Therefore, biosynthesized copper oxide nanoparticles can be effective as an adsorbent to remove RR24 dye and change some parameters to help remove dye.
