Abstract
Anabolic-androgenic steroids are known as part of the synthetic industry. Anabolic refers to gradual growth and build-up, and androgenic is associated with increased libido and stimulation of sexual performance. Trenbolone is also a steroid with a wide range of side effects. Dory et al. Reported that steroid users experience hematologic abnormalities. (1) Resistance training increases the thickness and diameter of the left ventricular wall of the heart. (2) As the ventricular wall thickens, the pressure on the heart to pump blood out Arteries need to be enlarged, stimulation of blood cell formation resulting from strength training, and possibly the use of steroids to increase the load on the heart to pump blood into the blood vessels (3). Have higher systolic than athletes in other disciplines. All the above-mentioned factors focused the focus of this study on this topic. materials and methods: The present study is a causal-post-event study, including 16 men in bodybuilding, cross-fit weightlifting (age: 28.1±6.1 years, height: 177.19±8.2 cm, weight: 83.36 ±9.3). It is in the form of two groups of steroid users (experimental) and athletes without a history of use (control). All athletes used in the scheme had a regular training pattern and met the inclusion criteria, including a history of steroid use in the past month, to determine blood pressure and heart rate, both groups several times at different intervals (sitting in a sitting position After five minutes of rest, measurement was performed and Cell counter Simx was used to determine the erythrocyte counts. Descriptive and inferential statistics (independent t-test) were used for statistical analysis in SPSS version 26. Results: According to Table 1, systolic and erythrocyte blood pressure were significantly higher in the steroid group than in the non-steroid group(p<0.05). But there were no significant changes in heart rate and diastolic pressure(p>0.05). Steroid use is associated with a wide range of side effects, including testicular atrophy, liver problems, and hematologic changes in the blood. As a result of taking testosterone or its analogues, testosterone levels increase, which the body excretes in large quantities through the kidneys and liver. Decomposes. Elevated testosterone levels can lead to risks such as cholesterol buildup, high blood pressure and more. On the other hand, studies have shown that athletes in strength disciplines have higher systolic blood pressure than athletes in other disciplines. Steroids that have the ability to produce estrogen have a greater effect on blood pressure than other steroids, because estrogen has a strong tendency to absorb water, sodium and fat(4). As the amount of sodium in the body increases, which coincides with an increase in salt, blood pressure increases significantly.
