Abstract

Plants are continuously interacting with a wide range of pathogens, pests, and weeds, all of which can be the causal agents of biotic stresses. Similarly, abiotic stresses, which include deficiencies or excessive water, salinity, low or high temperatures, unsuitable soil structure and the presence of heavy metals, ultraviolet radiation, and numerous other environmental extremes are hostile to plant growth and development.
