Abstract
Although Nano-medicines have shown promise as a means of chemotherapeutics against hydatid cysts, they face several challenges, including renal toxicity and adverse effects on the environment which need to be addressed. During this study, a highly safe micro-emulsion was tested for its superior efficacy, the ability to overcome drug resistance, and the least possible amount of side effects and complications associated with the treatment of hydatid cysts. Polymeric drug-loaded Nano-capsules are synthesized using a micro-emulsion of oil in water. formulations were tested via droplet size, zeta potential and SEM. Following seven months after infection, hydatidosis-infected 30 mice were divided into three groups. Groups 1 was treated daily with Albendazole Polymer Nano-capsules (Nano-ABZ), group 2 was treated with Albendazole (ABZ) as a positive control group, and group 3 was the negative control group without treatments (only received PBS). According to the results of the study, the total cyst numbers, total cyst weight and the cyst with the maximum size of Nano-ABZ had significantly lower total cyst numbers than the ABZ. As well as the total cyst numbers, total cyst weight and the cyst with the maximum size of Nano-capsule group had significantly lower total cyst numbers than positive and negative control groups. In conclusion, ABZ-Nano-capsule can serve as suitable alternatives to chemical drugs. With the right application of nanotechnology, it is possible to possess the potential to produce safe and effective drugs, which has promising implications.
