Abstract
Abstract Introduction: Marital trust and gratitude are influential structures in the lives of couples, which are involved in the initial incompatible schemas in their formation and manifestation. In addition, economic poverty significantly reduces marital trust and positive behaviors between spouses (including gratitude). Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of group schema therapy based on the mode model on marital trust and gratitude in women covered by charities in Mashhad. Methods: The research design is quasi-experimental (pre-test, post-test with waiting list group). The statistical population was married women covered by Mashhad charities. The sample group included 30 married women who were selected purposefully and randomly assigned to two groups of 15 members. Before starting the intervention, both groups completed the Marital Trust (Gottman, 2014) and Gratitude (McCullough and Emmons, 2002) questionnaires as a pre-test. Then, the group schema therapy protocol (Farrell, Reis and Shaw, 2014) was implemented on the experimental group in twelve sessions of 90-minutes. After that, marital trust and gratitude questionnaires were taken again from both groups as a post-test. Findings: Analysis of statistical data shows that the group schema therapy based on the mode model has been effective in increasing marital trust and gratitude in women covered by charities in Mashhad. Therefore, schema therapy can be used in clinical work to increase gratitude and marital trust. Conclusion: The effectiveness of schema therapy on the variables of marital trust and gratitude can be related to the techniques and treatment process in the three domains of cognition, emotion and behavior. The resulting mindfulness has an effect on increasing a person\\\'s confidence and is essential for the process of gratitude.
