Abstract
In this paper, an optimal age replacement policy has been studied for a k-out-of-n: G system, where the planned replacement time is a random variable with a distribution belonging to the proportional hazard rate family. It is supposed that the lifetime of the system components has a Weibull distribution. The expected cost rate function is used as the optimization criterion. The results have been given analytically and numerically.
