Current literature on future organizational leadership is scattered and lacks focus on the trends and factors that will shape future leadership. The purpose of this research is understanding the nature of leadership in future organizations. This research ap- plied literature review. The literature on future organizational trends, the charac- teristics of future organizations, and the future of leadership have been reviewed. Findings show that three future leadership characteristics include the expansion of virtual leadership, The development of leadership by a team, The increased impor- tance of leaders’ competencies. The importance of future research on organization and leadership is emphasized in this study.
