The study aimed to compare problem‑solving styles, psychological hardiness, general health, and marital satisfaction between parents of children with and without cerebral palsy (CP). The research design was descriptive causal‑comparative, and the study population consisted of fathers and mothers of children with CP and fathers and mothers of children without CP, matched on demographic characteristics. The sample comprised 89 participants (30 mothers and 20 fathers with healthy children, and 20 mothers and 19 fathers with a child with CP) selected through convenience sampling. The instruments included the Cassidy and Long Problem‑Solving Styles Questionnaire (1996), the Kobasa Psychological Hardiness Questionnaire (1992), the Goldberg General Health Questionnaire, and the ENRICH Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using inferential tests, including one‑way ANOVA and the Kruskal–Wallis’s test. Findings indicated no significant differences between groups in overall problem‑solving style and total marital satisfaction scores, although descriptive analysis of marital satisfaction subscales revealed different patterns across some dimensions. In contrast, significant differences emerged in psychological hardiness and general health, with parents of healthy children—particularly in the commitment and control dimensions of hardiness and in general health indicators—showing more favorable outcomes than parents of children with CP. These results suggest that having a child with special needs can affect the psychological adjustment and overall, well‑being of parents, particularly mothers, and highlight the need for enhanced psychological and social support for such families
